Holly Penney

Regional Registered Nurse | Charlottetown, Labrador

The scope of work in my role is exciting. You never really know what the day will bring, but you feel prepared for all of it. I credit the mentorship I’ve received in both emergency and inpatient settings. The opportunities that my preceptors through the Labrador-Grenfell Zone Regional Nurse Retention Program gave me right away built confidence I use in every situation.

What stands out just as much is the feeling of being part of something. You see it in the way people show up, stepping in for each other, sharing stories over coffee, and making room for real connection. Even the children feel it. When a young patient comes through the door with a big smile and says, “hi, Miss Holly,” it makes my day.

I came back to Labrador to be closer to my family and the coast. I stay because this place means a lot to me, and so does the work I get to do here. The scope of work is unmatched to anywhere else. Read more stories from health care professionals
