Canada’s east coast has been a point of many conversations over the last several decades, and definitely when I got accepted to med school at MUN. A friend from college in the United States suggested I apply, and I’m so glad I did.
After practicing medicine in the US for 15 years, I’m glad to be back in a place where I really get a full sense of the difference I can make. My wife and I had been talking about it for years, and I’m grateful for the unique opportunities that both of us still get at this stage in our careers. The clinical and academic availability there to help train and mentor students is a huge addition in this setting.
