The Come Home Incentive program is available at the employer’s discretion to individuals who have been living outside the province for at least six months, and is determined by the level of difficulty in recruiting to a geographic area.

 

Once the criteria have been met, eligible applicants may then qualify for one of the following incentives:

  • Advanced Care Paramedic – $50,000 for three year return-in-service agreement;
  • Cardiology Technologist - $50,000 for three year return-in-service agreement;
  • Cardiovascular Perfusionist - $50,000 for three year return-in-service agreement;
  • Clinical Laboratory Scientist - $50,000 for three year return-in-service agreement;
     
  • Clinical Pharmacist - $50,000 for three year return-in-service agreement;
  • Clinical Physiotherapist - $50,000 for three year return-in-service agreement;
     
  • Clinical Psychologist - $50,000 for three year return-in-service agreement;
  • Diagnostic Imaging Technologist - $50,000 for three year return-in-service agreement;
     
  • Electroneurophysiology Technologist - $50,000 for three year return-in-service agreement;
  • Genetic Technologists (Laboratory Technologist III and IV) - $50,000 for three year return-in-service agreement;
  • Licensed Practical Nurse – $50,000 for three year return-in-service agreement;
  • Medical Physicist - $50,000 for three year return-in-service agreement;
  • Nuclear Medicine Technologist - $50,000 for three year return-in-service agreement;
  • Nurse Practitioner – $60,000 for three year return-in-service agreement;
  • Physician – $100,000 for five year return-in-service agreement;
  • Primary Care Paramedic – $50,000 for three year return-in-service agreement;
  • Radiation Therapist (including Dosimetrists): $60,000 for three year return-in-service agreement;
  • Registered Midwife - $50,000 for three year return-in-service agreement;
  • Registered Nurse – $50,000 for three year return-in-service agreement; or
  • Respiratory Therapist - $50,000 for three year return-in-service agreement; 

While this initiative is aimed at ex-patriate Newfoundlanders and Labradorians, incentives are also available for non-Newfoundland and Labrador residents at the following rates and service agreements:
 

  • Advanced Care Paramedic – $25,000 for three year return-in-service agreement;
  • Cardiology Technologist - $25,000 for three year return-in-service agreement;
  • Cardiovascular Perfusionist - $25,000 for three year return-in-service agreement;
  • Clinical Laboratory Scientist - $25,000 for three year return-in-service agreement;
     
  • Clinical Pharmacist - $25,000 for three year return-in-service agreement;
  • Clinical Physiotherapist - $25,000 for three year return-in-service agreement;
     
  • Clinical Psychologist - $25,000 for three year return-in-service agreement;
  • Diagnostic Imaging Technologist - $25,000 for three year return-in-service agreement;
  • Electroneurophysiology Technologist - $25,000 for three year return-in-service agreement;

  • Nurse Practitioner – $30,000 for three year return-in-service agreement;
  • Physician – $50,000 for five year return-in-service agreement;
  • Primary Care Paramedic – $25,000 for three year return-in-service agreement;
  • Radiation Therapist (including Dosimetrists) - $30,000 for three year return-in-service agreement;
  • Registered Midwife - $25,000 for three year return-in-service agreement;
  • Registered Nurse – $25,000 for three year return-in-service agreement; or
  • Respiratory Therapist - $25,000 for three year return-in-service agreement;

In order to qualify, applicants are required to have a job offer from NL Health Services or a private clinic (for physicians). For physicians proposing to open their own clinic, a letter of intent is required.
